United Women on the Fly (UWOTF), TroutRoutes, and Fly Fish Instruct is excited to offer a Women’s “Independent Angler” Weekend at no cost to the recipient with an optional $200 travel stipend. This scholarship opportunity provides diverse women with education and financial assistance to explore their interest in fly fishing and gain a better understanding of the sport and conservation during an all-inclusive weekend trip in the beautiful state of Virginia. Candidates chosen for this scholarship will learn to fly fish on private water in Virginia. Participants are encouraged to share this opportunity with others.

The Independent Angler workshop will give you the knowledge to continue your fly fishing journey. We want you to leave feeling more confident and competent on the water.  This course is geared towards the beginner to the intermediate angler. You will have access to the online “Fly Fishing 101” and “Reading Trout Water” course to review before the weekend.  Experience is not required. Equipment can be borrowed if needed.
