At Fly Fish Instruct, we’re all about igniting a love for fly fishing by embracing inclusivity. We celebrate the beauty and diversity of anglers, fish species, and fly-fishing techniques. Our mission is to share our passion and knowledge, aiming to inspire and empower you on your fly fishing journey.
Our story begins with Heather Hodson and her goal to diversify the sport of fly fishing. Since the binging, her deliberate efforts to challenge the economic, gender, and underrepresented barriers within our sport are the driving force behind Fly Fish Instruct’s initiatives.
Heather is also a passionate and vibrant guide, instructor, and the founder of United Women on the Fly. When she’s not on the water, you can find her at the hospital nursing in the Cath Lab, trail running, dancing, or behind the camera, taking photos and capturing the moments of living a full and meaningful life.
What Makes Us Unique?
Our purpose goes beyond simply teaching you the technical aspects of casting and fly fishing. We work to create a welcoming and inclusive community that is bonded together by the desire to learn, collaborate, and share passion and enthusiasm for fly fishing.
Because it’s more than just a hobby, fly fishing is also a profound connection with nature and ourselves. That’s why we are also advocates for protecting our planet, to ensure that the beauty of fly fishing remains accessible for all to enjoy for years to come.
As a diverse and experienced family of fly anglers, we are also committed to continuous learning and growth in our roles as instructors, mentors, fly fishers, and environmental stewards. Our team is dedicated to providing you with a positive learning experience whether you’re a beginner or a more experienced angler. It’s not just about catching fish for us; we’re passionate about all things fly fishing!
And we’re truly excited to have you here with us. Thank you for choosing Fly Fish Instruct and for your amazing support!
