Join Bob Barblett and the Clearwater Fly Casters for an evening presentation “How I got from there to here: Tales from a fly angler in black and white.
This evening Bob will share his personal story of growing up with a pole, bait and bobber and his early unconventional evolution to fly angling. He will share the story of his up-bringing in the 50s-60s and his forced move west and eventual move to the Pacific Northwest in the mid-80s. Most importantly, Bob will share how his social and cultural outdoor environments have changed over time and what he is doing to change it. People say that Bob’s passion for storytelling and flyfishing has evolved into an obsession as he continues to evolve. Hope to see you on May 10th.
Bob was born and raised in a small town in the backwoods of West Virginia on a tributary of the North Branch of the Potomac. His family have been hunters and fishers for as long as anyone can remember. When asked how long he has been fishing or hunting his consistent response is, “Honestly, I cannot remember a time when I didn’t.”
Bob is a retired university educator, writer, storyteller, researcher, film producer, passionate fly fisher, Life member of TU, on the Board of Directors for the Spokane Riverkeeper and a member of a very diverse Fly Fish Instruct group.
